Tips & Strategies

  • You can make dashing a little easier by changing the dash button from Triangle  to R2  from the options menu.
  • Using Twin Hearts charm allows you to get hit 2 times in boss fights without affecting your end result (Rank) which makes it very useful when going for A-Rank and S-rank.
  • Cuphead supports 2 players offline co-op but this will make the game harder for you. Bosses will gain much more health and too many objects will be on the screen that will make you not aware of your current location and harder to track your position.
  • In order to control the dice and use it to your advantage, duck under the dice and quickly double-tap Cross just before the number you want. Another method is to jump 2 numbers before the number required and parry the dice after 1 second of jumping.
  • Any Pink colored object in the game can be parried, but not all of them can charge your super meter nor counting toward the end grade or rank.
  • Special moves can be done by pressing Circle  if you have at least 1 card in your super meter but it's not fully charged yet.
  • Super art moves are performed after you press Circle  when your super meter is fully charged with 5 cards.

Expert mode will unlock after beating the game once. it contains a harder version of the bosses with more health, faster projectiles and different attack combinations or mechanics sometimes.
However, it's not much different than regular, and since you already have experience with all the bosses, this may take less time to complete than playing on regular for the first time. You just need to defeat the bosses on expert so don't worry about your Rank.

You can check which bosses you completed on expert by pressing Triangle then go to List, a Star mark will appear if you defeated a boss on expert. Here is a photo to demonstrate that:

Here is the recommended loadout and strategy for each boss (you can also use the same loadout for Expert difficulty).

Goopy Le Grande
  • Shot: Chaser + Spread
  • Charm: Twin Heart
  • Super: Energy Beam

This boss is a blue ball that bounces back and forth so make sure to dash under him while using the chaser all the time. From time to time, he will stop and tries to attack you and what you want to do is to duck by holding Left Stick: Down so he doesn't hit you. After you finished phase 1, three question marks will appear above him and you will need to parry them because these are the only items that can be parried in this fight. Phase 2 is similar to phase 1 but now he is a larger ball. Use the chaser during this phase and dash under him in the middle of the level, he will also stop and attack you with a boxing glove so duck to avoid getting hit. The third and last phase is the tombstone. You can use either the chaser or spread with your super abilities as well and keep running right and left to cross in front of him so you don't get stuck or pinned against a wall. When the tombstone stops to slam the ground, use the dash to avoid getting hit.

The Root Pack
  • Shot: Peashooter + Spread
  • Charm: Twin Heart
  • Super: Energy Beam

This fight has 3 phases, the first phase is a potato that shoots 3 balls at you then a pink snake which you going to make sure to get 3 parries during this phase because it's the easiest to get parries. Use the peashooter but Don't use special moves because it may kill the potato before you can parry the third snake so slow down until you get 3 parries. In phase 2, an anion will appear in the middle, use the peashooter all the time and dodge the dropping tears from above. Don't worry about parrying because it will get you hit and lose HP. Remember to use special moves as you need to use 6 cards in total (Super art counts as 5 cards). The last phase is a carrot. Stand right in the middle and shoot up with the spread and use the peashooter special move for maximum damage. He will shoot small carrots at you so feel free to move around and shoot them, and when he uses the laser beam attack, it's better to dash away then return to the middle after he stops shooting.

Cagney Carnation
  • Shot: Roundabout + Spread
  • Charm: P. Sugar / Twin Hearts
  • Super: Invincibility / Energy Beam

The boss is a sunflower, in order to hit her you need to shoot her in the face so stand on the upper platforms and use the roundabout. She can use her face to punch you high or low but you will be able to tell the difference from the animation prior to the attack, you can use the spread during this attack. Occasionally, she will turn into a Gatling gun, this is where the P. Sugar comes in hand as you can parry the pink seeds or bullets more easily, and spread is very useful against the small enemies. She also opens her hand and throws spinning disks that you can jump over them and nuts that you can jump and dash to dodge them. In the last phase, you will need to stand on the platforms while jumping from one to the other to avoid the vines that grow from below. In addition, you need to parry the pink things that come out of her mouth and use your special moves or super art. Roundabout is recommended for this phase but you can still use spread while standing on the right platform.

Ribby and Croaks
  • Shot: Chaser + Charge
  • Charm: Twin Hearts
  • Super: Energy Beam

Ribby and Croaks are the 2 frogs, a green frog and a brown frog. The green frog will shoot boxing gloves at you, and every fourth glove will be a pink glove that you can parry and should be parried. The brown frog will shoot flames of fire that will move towards you. Use the chaser against the flames and use fully charged shots from the charge when there are no flames. Next, the green frog will push toward you so jump and dash to the right to dodge him. After that, the brown frog will turn into a fan and the air will push you to the left, use the charge and your Energy Beam as well at this phase to shoot the brown frog. Move against the air direction to stay away from the green frog while dodging his balls. In the end, the green frog will push towards you again so jump and dash to the left this time. The frogs will transform into a casino machine that will not be affected by your attacks yet. They will launch coins at you until you parry the pink handle, after that, you will get attacked by one of three different attacks:
  • The bull attack can be dogged by jumping up or down depending on the flame direction.
  • The Cat attack is where orange platforms shoot balls up, try to jump in between the platform and the ball while the ball is all the way up into the air.
  • The frog attack: keep jumping on the green platforms.

and during these attacks, the frogs will be vulnerable to your attacks. Use the chaser so you can focus more on dodging their attacks.

Hilda Berg
This is a plane level and the only useful charms are health charms.
  • Charm: Twin Hearts

This is the first plane fight in the game and it can be a little tough at first. In phase one, you want to dodge her "HA's" and the bullets coming out from the small purple planes, try to parry the pink bullets, and use the rockets to damage her more quickly. She will then transform into a bull, keep moving up and down with the bull to do some damage, shrink with Triangle when the bull charge at you to escape faster, and avoid getting hit. She will next transform back to her original form. Keep working on your parries and use rockets as much as you can. Shrink the plane when she shoots a tornado and lure it to a corner then go around it. Next, she will either transform into a cupid or 2 dancing sisters. If it's the cupid, then make sure to dodge the arrow and the stars, you can also shoot the stars to get rid of them. If it's the dancing sisters, they will spawn an orb that will shoot bullets while spinning, so move in a circular pattern and keep shooting at the sisters. Eventually, She will turn into a crescent, use your rocket super art move at the beginning of the phase to deal a lot of damage. Dodge the stars and parry the pink ones, and watch for the UFOs above you. It appears that the red UFOs shoot the laser when you immediately under them so move to the right quickly, but the gold UFOs shoot the laser to the right of your location so you want to move to the left to dodge them.

Gold
This trophy requires you to get A-Rank or higher on all of the 5 bosses located in Inkwell Isle 2.

Here is the recommended loadout and strategy for each boss (you can also use the same loadout for Expert difficulty):

Barooness Von Bon Bon
  • Shot: Roundabout + Chaser
  • Charm: Twin Hearts
  • Super: Energy Beam/invincibility

During this fight, feel free to switch between the Roundabout and the Chaser however you like. You will be fighting 3 out of 5 randomly chosen enemies in the first phase, and these enemies are as follows:
  • A chocolate Bar: dodged by standing in a corner when splitting into multiple pieces.
  • Cupcake: jump and slams into the floor.
  • Candy Corn: moves in 2 squares pattern, Stand in the corner then jump and dash when comes toward you.
  • A Gum Machine: you can stand in the left corner and shoot him while dodging the gums attack from above.
  • Pac Man Candy: dodged by jumping and dasing over him or just dashing under him when he is above.

After the first boss is destroyed, jellybeans will start to run from left to right that you need to dodge, sometimes they can be parried if they're pink so try and get your parries during this phase. Also, one of the four cotton balls can be parried. After that, you will be facing Bon Bon. Try to stay on the green platform as much as possible but avoid the head from hitting you by jumping and dashing, and the pink candy wheel can be parried and it will count toward the 3 parries required for grade A. Don't forget to use your special moves and super art.

Beppi the Clown
  • Shot: Roundabout + Charge
  • Charm: Twin Hearts
  • Super: Energy Beam

For the first phase, use the Roundabout to finish this phase in 3 attacks from the clown. Jump and dash when he attacks, and parry the pink ducks when you see them, you don't have to get all 3 parries in this phase. In the second phase, use Roundabout to easily get rid of the smaller balloon dogs especially when you jump on the roller-coster and make sure to parry its head or you can parry the pink balloon dogs attacking you. The 3rd phase is when the clown is riding a horse, it can be a yellow horse that shoots horseshoes in a straight line or a green horse that shoot in a wave style. Try to stand just under the horse and use Spread on him but you might need to move and jump on the roller-coaster when it comes. In the last phase, stay close to the boss and use your Spread weapon, jump on the platforms before the roller-coaster comes in, and use your super art to deal more damage and to avoid the baseballs coming from the penguins under you.

Djimmi the Great
This is another plane level so using the Twin Hearts charm is the best.

The first phase will be 1 out of 3 attacks:
  • Swords: one of them can be parried
  • Throw Junks: try to go up and down and parry if you can
  • Cats that follow you so try to move in a circular pattern and parry whatever you can.
In the second phase, shoot the faces with the bombs and dodge the blades. Next in the third phase, use your super move on the red boss to reduce the time of this phase then stand to the left and focus on avoiding the mummies, shrink and pass between the small balls if you have to or you can just go under them. The 4th phase is probably the hardest phase in this fight, use your super move on the toy if you have it and parry the pink bullets to refill the super meter again, all while avoiding the hat that is chasing you. In the 5th and final phase, watch out for the circular beams and the pyramids lasers, and it's highly recommended to use a super move.

Grim Matchstick
  • Shot: Roundabout + Lobber (for 2nd and 3rd phase)
  • Charm: Smoke bomb
  • Super: Energy Beam

Use the Roundabout for the first phase, stick to the left side of the screen and jump and dash to dodge the fireballs, change your position when the dragon's tail appears under your current location. Make sure to parry the pink rings because this is the only phase for parries. In the next phase, use the lobber as it deals more damage and jump when you hear the small fire flames sound to avoid them. In the last phase, keep using the lobber while standing on the top row of clouds to avoid the flame attack, and try not to hit the small balls of fire to prevent them from getting exploded into 4 parts.

Wally Warbles

This is another plane level so using the Twin Hearts charm is the best.

In the first and second phases, stick to the left side of the screen and just go up and down, shoot the first three birds and parry the last one and use your special and super moves. During the third phase, 5 eggs will surround the boss as a ring while rotating and blocking your attacks and the boss will shoot a pink bullet that can be parried. The ring will widen and this will be your chance to get inside and attack him, use your super if you have it. In the last phase, you can fly in the top middle of the screen and use the small rockets (the other weapon in your plane) to shoot below you. There are some objects that can be parried if you still need more parries.

This trophy requires you to get A-Rank or higher on all of the 5 bosses located in Inkwell Isle 3.

Here is the recommended loadout and strategy for each boss (you can also use the same loadout for Expert difficulty):

Rumor Honeybottoms
  • Shot: Charge + Chaser
  • Charm: Twin Hearts
  • Super: Energy Beam

Once the fight begins, use 3-4 charged shots on the police bee then switch to the chaser after that. Keep moving left and right to stay away from him and parry the pink pieces that come out of the bombs. Now for the second phase, use charged shots all the time but change to the chaser if you need to focus more on parrying the pink balls or the small triangles. When the boss starts shooting missiles, stick to the far left platforms and use charged shots, go down a platform (by pressing  Cross while holding Left Stick: Down ) then jump up 2 platforms to avoid these missiles. Before the last phase starts, the bee boss will show up in the middle and read a book, this is a great chance to use a super move. She will then turns into a plane. use the chaser if you don't feel confident enough to shoot charged shots down with the charger. She will shoot gloves at you and she can sometimes attack with a saw from the right or the left and you can know which direction because she will move to the far right or the far left before performing the attack respectively.

Captain Brineybeard
  • Shot: Charge + Chaser
  • Charm: Twin Hearts/Smoke bomb
  • Super: Energy Beam

For this fight, you need to watch out for the barrel above you that will keep dropping down at you the entire fight. In addition, the Captain will draw an octopus that shoots small balls and the majority of these balls can be parried. He will often call a squid that covers your screen with ink, use charged shots at him to defeat him quickly before your screen gets covered with ink. He can also call a shark that will attack you from the left side so you will need to move to the right to avoid getting hit. Another attack can be called which is the fish dogs that jump from the right side and you need to shoot them. The ship will start shooting cannonballs at you at some point while the Captain is calling these attacks. In the end, the ship will open its mouth and throw fireballs that move in a circular pattern, and what you need to do is shoot the uvula with charged shots or use the chaser instead while avoiding these fireballs. After three fireballs, the ship will unleash a massive laser beam that you can duck under it to dodge it. Keep shooting the uvula and use your special moves till you knock the boss out.

Sally Stageplay
  • Shot: Roundabout + Spread (3rd and 4th phase)
  • Charm: Smoke Bomb
  • Super: Energy Beam

Use the Roundabout during the first 2 phases, dash when Sally jumps, and watch out for the fan that she throws at you. You need to parry 3 hearts during this phase as it's easier than the last phase. In the next phase, try to dash as much as possible and don't jump a lot to avoid getting hit by the milk bottles. Next, stand just under her and use the Spread against her. Go to the right when the lighting starts to drop, shoot the rock and dash through the wave, make sure you go to the far right before dashing through the wave so you don't accidentally hit Sally and lose 1 HP. In the final phase, Keep using the spread while aiming up at her, you also need to move, jump and dash right and left to stay away from the umbrella that tracks and follows you. Pink roses can be parried in this phase.

Werner Werman
  • Shot: Peashooter (1st phase) + Spread ( 2nd and 3rd phase)
  • Charm: Smock Bomb
  • Super: Energy Beam

A reference to Tom & Jerry, in which you will be fighting a mouse resembling Jerry in the first 2 phases and a cat the resembles Tom in the last phase. The first phase is when the mouse shoots firebombs that once they hit the ground, they will explode into 2 fire pellets to the left and right, and the best way to avoid them is by jumping on top of them where the bomb exploded. He will shoot different objects at you that some can be parried and I recommend that you get your 3 parries during this phase because it will be harder in the later phases. Next, he will stand in the middle and unleash flames. Go up when he's down and go down when he's up. Watch out for the bottle caps, you can know which ones will move into the battle when they start to jiggle or vibrate before they move in. If the entire side starts shaking then you need to dash to the other side. Use the Spread in this phase because you will be closer to him anyway. The cat will be the last phase, use the Spread during this phase and watch for the cat's paws that can come from the right or the left, you can actually see which arm he will use from the background. He will release 2 ghosts that will shoot a pink ball you can parry that will split into 2 smaller balls. You can kill the ghosts if you want to make it easier or you can just focus on the cat. Remember to use special and super moves.

Dr. Kahl's Robot
This is another plane level so using the Twin Hearts charm is the best.

This fight is one of the hardest fights in the game. In the first phase, you will be shooting a big robot with 3 parts (Antenna at the top, an opening in the middle that releases pink cylinders that shoot lasers and a bottom opening that releases small ships). Once the fight begins, keep shooting at the laser until it shoots at you then immediately go to the middle and use your rockets to shot the middle and the bottom parts at the same time to weaken them, parry the pink cylinder and shoot the remaining small ships, go back to the antenna and shoot it once and for all, go to the bottom left corner and shoot the bottom part and the small ships until the part is destroyed then move up to the middle part. Once the middle part is destroyed, keep shooting at the heart to finish the first phase. In the second phase, the robot's head will move from left to right then from right to left, you need to move in a counter-clockwise and shoot the head when it's coming toward you from the right. Using a super move will finish this phase very quickly. The last phase is the hardest in which a diamond will keep releasing laser bullets at you. You need to stay on the far left and moving up and down to avoid these bullets. Shrink your plan when going around the electric fences to reduce the chances of getting hit.

Cala Maria
This is another plane level so using the Twin Hearts charm is the best.

In the first phase, different attacks and combinations will occur each time you restart the fight, and here are all the attacks that she does in phase 1:
  • A group of Pufferfish will move from bottom to top, parry the pink ones if you can.
  • She will Spit out 3 ghosts that charge at you together, you need to shrink and move up or down just when they converge and start the attack animation.
  • A yellow fish that spit a green electrified fish that chase you around.
  • A red Fish that shoots red projectiles in a spreading way.
  • A Turtle show at the bottom of the screen that shoots a mine bomb that explodes into smaller bullets in 8 directions.
  • A horse that pumps a water stream to push you up.

The second phase is where the electric eels show up, you can completely ignore them and just shoot the boss but you still need to dodge their attacks, some can be parried. If you want to shoot them, use the rocket for more damage. Sometimes she will release a green vision that turns you into stone and there is no way to dodge this attack, this can actually make you vulnerable to the eels attacks. However, keep moving the left thumbstick left and right (Left Stick: Left + Left Stick: Right  repeatedly) while shooting to free yourself quicker. In the last phase, avoid the green skulls and the spikes, and go through the green ghost to avoid getting hit but this turns you into stone again which can be frustrating because you have little time to free yourself and to dodge the skulls or the spikes. keep shaking the left thumbstick and keep shooting and you will eventually knock her out.

Phantom Express
  • Shot: Roundabout + Spread/Chaser
  • Charm: P. Sugar
  • Super: Energy Beam

You have to use Roundabout for this phase while jumping to hit all the eyes coming toward you and parry the pink bricks as well so the cart doesn't move and to build you super meter. Next, start by going to the middle and use spread on the skull face, always try to stay under his head. If you can't parry the pink bricks, you can stand at the edge of the cart to avoid the skeleton's hand. In the 3rd phase, use the spread at one of the faces, once one of the faces start vomiting electricity, go to the opposite side, and start shooting the other face and the ghosts but make sure their pink bodies don't change the cart's location, use your super here if you have it. once one of the faces is down, you need to go the middle to shoot the other face before he charges the electric attack at you. Last but not least, the train itself will start running, and you have to parry its tail to open his middle chamber and makes him vulnerable. You might have to do that 3 times before you knock him out. Use spread and avoid the circular smoke rings by jumping at the right moment.

This trophy requires you to get A-Rank or higher on King Dice and The Devil.

Recommended loadout and strategy:

King Dice
  • Shot: Roundabout/Peashooter + Spread (against King Dice)
  • Charm: Smoke bomb
  • Super: Energy Beam
  • Number 3/5/7 mini-bosses are highly recommended when using the Smoke Bomb

You need to learn how to control the dice and use it to your advantage. Duck under the dice and quickly double-tap Cross just before the number you want. Another method is to jump 2 numbers before the number required and parry the dice after 1 second of jumping.

Let's start with boss NO. 3 the cigar, use the peashooter or roundabout, dodge the fireballs by moving away from the middle of the screen then moving back to the edge, and smoke dash to the other side when the cigar changes his location, use special moves to knock him quicker.

Boss NO.5 is the magic rabbit. Stand on the middle card and keep shooting at him, smoke dash through the skulls when they start closing at you. jump and parry the pink heart when the row of face hearts comes from the bottom and use your super move to give you invincibility temporarily when the row is coming from the top.

Boss NO.7 is an easy boss with the smoke bomb equipped, just shoot her while smoke dashing through her legs, when she starts throwing the white balls just dash away from the center. Fill your super meter and save it for King Dice. Keep shooting your peashooter and she will go down in no time.

Finally, you get to fight king Dice. For this fight use the Spread and stay in the middle to avoid getting hit by his hand, once his hand on the table go to the other side, a bunch of cards will come out of it and you need to jump and parry the pink cards to dodge them and to do the 3 required parries, use your super energy beam when all the cards come out. Keep shooting with the Spread but use the peashooter special move on him to do more damage. repeat the process till you knock him out.

The Devil
  • Shot: Roundabout (phase 1 only) + Spread (phase 2,3 and 4)
  • Charm: Twin Hearts
  • Super: Energy Beam

For the first phase, you will be using the Roundabout all the time so you can focus more on dodging the attacks. These attacks are:
  • 4 balls including one pink ball that you want to parry
  • He will attack using his head as a dragon and comes from the left or right, stay in the center to know which direction he will come from then go to the other side.
  • A pink flame that can be parried with blue flames around it, parry the center flame then dash away.
  • His head might transform into a spider, dash just when it appears on the screen, and Not before you can see it.
  • Clapping his hands in which you need to jump and dash to stay in the air for a longer time, it's a bit tricky but you need to master the timing right.
The second phase is when he takes off his cat Clothes/Skin and turns into a skeleton. Use spread on him before he jumps down then jump down into the hole after he jumps. Stand on the 2nd to the left platform and use spread from now onward, jump one time when the Axe loop around you and comes from below. Only change platform when the poker chip is dropping on you, you should know that the poker ships do drop from either left to right or right to left, one platform at a time. Parry the pink bombs and use a super to finish the phase quicker. In the third phase, get rid of the purple animal to your left and keep shooting at the boss. Don't shoot the other animal because that will make them spawn much faster. Move to the middle platform to avoid the poker ships then go back to left one. The last phase is when there is only one platform and you have to dodge a poker ship too. All you can do is jump away and go back to the platform as fast as possible and keep shooting till he gets knocked out.

In order to get an S-Rank, you have to do all of the followings in one single fight:
  • Defeat a boss on Expert difficulty
  • Defeat him under 2 minutes ( it seems to vary between different bosses)
  • Don't take a hit*
  • Do 3 parries
  • Use 6 cards from your super meter (you can also use 1 super + 1 card) and they must hit an enemy in order to count.

To make it easier, attempt this trophy against The Root Pack boss located in Inkwell Isle 1 with Spread and Peashooter as weapons, Energy Beam as your super and Twin Hearts as your charm.

*Note: the Twin Hearts charm gives you 2 extra HP which means you can get hit 2 times without affecting the final result so it's highly recommended to use while going for this trophy.

You can obtain Super Arts by completing the Mausoleum levels. There are 3 Mausoleum in the game, one on each Isle. Each one will reward you with a different ability. The best strategy is to stand on the middle platform and parry the pink ghosts as soon as you see them. If any ghost reaches the pot in the middle, you'll be defeated. Once you defeated all ghosts in a level, you will be rewarded with a super art. Defeating all 3 Mausoleum will get you all 3 Super Arts Thus, the trophy.

The 3rd Mausoleum is a good opportunity to get the Bronze  Bouncing ball

There are 3 ways to collect a total of 40 Coins in the game:
  • 30 coins from all the 6 Run & Gun levels ( 5 coins in each Run & Gun level)
  • 5 Coins are hidden in the world including the tutorial level
  • Certain NPCs will give you coins after doing a certain action:
    • Talk to the red apple faced NPC on the wooden bridge in Inkwell Isle 1 to get 3 coins
    • In Inkwell Isle 2, talk to the Donut girl after walking behind the mountain to get an extra coin
    • In Inkwell Isle 2, there is an NPC next to the Dragon tower, talk to him after parrying 4 times in a row without touching the ground in any level or a boss fight to get the last coin. The easiest way to get 4 parries in a row is when fighting King Dice.

To perform a Parry, you need press Cross (the jump button) While in mid-air on any Pink colored or glowing Object. If done successfully, Cuphead will bounce up of that Pink object. Also, it will fill 1 card for your Super meter. It's more than likely to get this trophy during your normal play and completing the 3 Mausoleum. However, if you still didn't get the trophy, load up King Dice's level and parry as many cards as possible.
Equipping the P. Sugar charm will allow you to parry one Pink object automatically after jumping without the need to press again.

Do 100 parries to unlock this Trophy.
Pacifist

For this trophy, you need to complete all of the 6 Run & Gun levels without defeating any enemies. So basically without firing your weapon. This can be a bit tricky as you'll encounter certain mini-bosses and objects that will block your way. You can do all levels by equipping the Twin Heart charm for 2 extra health and the Invincibility super to pass through certain objects especially on the first level. Once you successfully beat a level, you will get a P-Rank for being a Pacifist.

Here is a video to show how to beat every level without defeating any enemies.:

You can get this trophy by completing any Boss level or Run & Gun level without taking any hit. This may sound difficult but it's not, because you can get this trophy on Simple difficulty on one of the easiest bosses in the game which is The Root Pack located in Inkwell Isle 1.
Porcelain Power
Defeat a boss with a Super Art
41.52%
Uncommon
Bronze
To do a Super Art attack you need to fill all 5 cards in your super meter then press Circle to attack. For this trophy, your last hit on the boss should be a super art attack that Knocks him out. There are 3 Super Arts in the game located in the Mausoleums, each Inkwell isle has a mausoleum that contains 1 Super art. You need to get the Energy beam as it's the first one to unlock and the most efficient to use. After getting the Super Art, you need to press Triangle while roaming on the map then go to Super and equip it. Note that the invincibility Super art can't be used for this trophy because you can't damage the boss with it.

Just like Bronze Ceramic Strike, this trophy is tricky because you can't know the health of the boss, so make sure to fully maximize your super meter to 5 cards in or before reaching the last phase then shoot the boss with your weapons for a little bit to make him weak enough for the Super Art attack to knock the boss out. Goopy Le Grande and The Root Pack are recommended for this trophy.
Ceramic Strike
Defeat a boss with an Extra Special move
54.66%
Common
Bronze
To do an Extra Special move you need to fill at least one card in your super meter then press Circle . For this trophy, your last hit on the boss should be an Extra Special move that Knocks him out.

The tricky part about this trophy is you can't see a health bar for the boss. So you will need to guess but there is a solution: Try to build up your super meter to 4 cards (not 5 or otherwise you will unleash a super art attack) and on the last phase, weak the boss a little with your weapons then shoot 4 Extra Special moves in a row and hope it knocks him out. You can attempt this trophy on Simple difficulty against Goopy Le Grande boss on Inkwell Isle 1.
Rolling Sixes
Defeat King Dice without taking a hit

Silver
This trophy is Highly misleading. In fact, you can get hit while fighting King Dice and still get the trophy. The idea here is to make sure your HP doesn't go below 3.

Here are some tips:
  •  Equip the Peashooter and Spread weapons with the Invincibility super and the Twin hearts charm.
  • Try to go against mini-bosses number 3/6/8 as these are easier without the Smoke bomb charm.
  • Fill your super meter before fighting King Dice and use the Spread against him. use your super as well if you feel you gonna get hit.
  • Remember, you can still get hit by King Dice but make sure your HP is 3 or up.

You will get the trophy immediately after you defeat King Dice.

Defeat a boss using only the mini-plane bullets
21.26%
Uncommon
Silver
To use the mini-plane, you need to hold Triangle (the dash button) while playing a level with the plane. This will make your plane small but faster. This trophy can be frustrating as the mini-plane fire distance is shorter and the damage is weaker, which means it could take over 6 minutes to finish the level. Make sure to equip a charm that increases your HP like the Twin Hearts charm to increase your HP up to 5 and play on Simple difficulty.

Here is a list of all the plane levels:
  • Hilda Berg (Recommended)
  • Djimmi the Great
  • Wally Warbles
  • Dr. Kahl's Robot
  • Cala Maria
  • Phear Lap (available in the Casino mini-boss No.6 in King Dice's level. Recommended)
  • Mr. Chimes

Since holding Triangle while shooting with Square can be hard, my recommendation is to change the dash button from Triangle  to  R2 from the options menu, this will make controlling the mini-plane much easier and more comfortable.

For this trophy, you need to parry any Pink objects 5 times in a row before landing on the ground. It doesn't have to be the same object, though you can still get the trophy by parrying the same object 5 times. There are so many locations to get this trophy but the easiest ones can be either while parrying ghosts in the Mausoleum or while parrying the Cards in King Dice's boss fight.
