NOTE: This guide will work for both the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game as they have the exact same list. The only game-play difference is how you get the Harvester Scythe.

Tips & Strategies

Once you have the Tremor Gauntlet get the Tremor Smash move (L2 + Triangle)  as soon as possible as it will make the Wraiths much easier to deal with.

The Harpoon Tackle (Left Analog + L2 + Square) can both damage and get you out of the way of an attack at the same time.

Some enemies can be briefly stunned by the Abyssal chain giving you an opening to attack.

Seek out Wicked K after getting Death's Blessing for the Soul Boost. He can be found outside of the Twilight Cathedral after getting the Abyssal Chain across the lava to the left of the entrance. In the Anvil's Ford near a grapple point leading to a Wrath Piece on the side that Ulthane was on while plucking pigeons. He is in the Drowned Pass directly across from the exit just swim to the small ramp that leads into the small cave. Finally in the Choking Grounds under the center stone casket to the right of the entrance.

After meeting Vulgrim and trans-versing the library you will enter the Scalding Gallow. You will have to fight the Phantom General mini-boss then solve the puzzle by sliding the 2 statues into place. This guy is basically just a souped up foot soldier with 2 attacks:
  • Uppercut - Unblockable uppercut that has a blue glow about it.
  • Axe - Basic axe swings easily blocked.

Once he is defeated and the statues are returned to their positions Samael will be freed.

Silver
She is the guardian of the first Heart of the Chosen and resides within the Twilight Cathedral. Tiamat can be one nasty customer, the crossblade will be how you knock her out of the sky. First grab a bomb from the arena and throw it at her, when she stops moving you will have to ricochet the crossblade off of a torch onto the bomb to blow her out of the sky. Once down you are free to wail on her until she takes off again. You will have to do this 2-3 times before she becomes grounded. Once grounded she will become more aggressive so you will need to stay on your toes to avoid her attacks while you finish her off.

Her attacks consist of all of the following and they must be avoided:
  • Flying Dash - As she dashes over the arena it creates a wave of damaging wind that must be avoided.
  • Fireballs - Whenever she stops to hover she will start spitting these out at you.
  • Wing Wind - When grounded she will create gust of wind by rearing up and flapping her wings.
Rocked Your Face Off
Defeat The Griever
53.57%
Common
Silver
This creature guards the Hollows and the second heart but it is protected by a blue crystal on its abdomen. You start on the far end of the arena by an empty train car. The first thing to do is to get close and break all the blue crystals in the arena so you can use the train car to stun Griever. Once stunned run up and use the Tremor Gauntlet to break the blue crystal on the Griever, once broken the core is exposed and you can do real damage. You will need to re-stun Griever 1-2 more times before it succumbs to your attacks.

Watch out for the following attacks:
  • Heat ray - this a is a straight beam of heated energy that can make the crystals invulnerable for a limited time and it does a lot of damage, avoid this at all cost.
  • Slam - get too close without stunning it first it will use this, it does not do much damage but it does stagger you.
  • Roar - this does no damage it just knocks you away from the boss.
Ashes to Ashes
Defeat The Stygian
49.83%
Uncommon
Silver

Upon entering the creature's area there are around 20-30 Phantom guard soldiers, try to kill as many as you can before the Stygian breaks free of its chains. Once freed it will act just like the Ash Titans you have killed several times already. Its head is encased in a muzzle, that must be broken before it can be damaged.  Ride along its sides and attack the muzzle with Chaoseater to break the muzzle, once broken the real fight begins. If you are knocked off of Ruin for any extended period you will die. The only damage dealer in this fight will be Mercy, Bronze An Old Friend, and watch for the signs of its attacks.

Attacks to watch for:

  • Charge - it will charge at you and knock you off of Ruin, causing moderate damage.
  • Riser - it will shoot straight out of the ground like a spike causing massive damage & knocking you off of Ruin.
  • Babies - it will spit out 3-5 little baby Titans that will chase you around trying to separate you from Ruin.

Try to get Strife's Fury before facing Stygian as it increases the damage done by Mercy. Refer to Bronze An Old Freind to get this before the fight.

47.29%
Uncommon
Silver
The Spider Queen in the Iron Canopy likes to move around a lot, including teleporting. You will need to use the Abyssal Chain to pull yourself to her face and strike. She will continually taunt you while fighting as well so just ignore her, dashing in this fight will be your best friend. After a certain amount of damage she will attach herself to the ceiling and you will have to use grapple points to reach her. Do note that the grapple points are on a steady decline so your time is limited before they re-appear.

Her teleport attacks are what you really need to watch out for:
  • Slam - She will teleport directly above you and drop on top of you.
  • Slash - She will teleport around several times then do a charging slash in a straight line.
Payback's A B****
Defeat Straga
41.91%
Uncommon
Silver
Time for some payback from the Apocalypse, this is more of a puzzle than a fight though. You will notice a "balcony" on his back and a portal on his mace along with 2 more portals on the floor. The portals serve 2 purposes, 1 to avoid his attack and 2 to reach his "balcony" to inflict damage. Once you hit his core he will drop and you can then attack his face for a limited time before repeating the process. Keep a portal on his mace at all times so that when he rears up for the slam you can use the floor portal to land on his "balcony".

His main attacks are:
  • Mace slam - this will cause a staggering shockwave and moderate damage
  • Swipe - he will slam his mace on either end of the arena and drag it across to the other side, use the portals to avoid this one
  • Backup - he will summon fallen angels and undead lords to distract you from his attacks, he can damage them as well though but a powered blade geyser can take care of them.
The Final Challenger?
Defeat The Destroyer
39.58%
Uncommon
Silver
The final boss of the game has 2 phases to his fight: one astride Ruin and the second on foot. The first is his Dragon form that will be fought quite similar to the Stygian, this fight will require some timing. Destroyer will charge at you directly and you will need to "joust" him and time your swing to knock him over giving you the opportunity to attack. You will need to repeat this 2-3 times as usual until you activate a QTE that will cause the battle field and boss change.

Dragon Form:
  • Joust - he will charge and attempt to swipe his claw at you, this is also when you can knock him over and open him up to attacks. One of the claws will start to glow with an orange-red color, watch out for that one. The glowing claw is the one that will attack you, so it's best to go towards the other claw and hit him.
  • Dive Bomb - he will fly up off screen then start shooting fireballs and then slam down. The Destroyer will dive down after roaring, as soon as you hear the roar, accelerate to avoid him.
  • Flame breath - after getting back up from a joust he will blast you with a flame breath.

Once he is in his other form his attacks change completely and he is more aggressive. At this point you will now be getting in his face whenever possible. When he goes for the "samurai draw" you can block and counter causing a QTE it should only take 3 successful QTE's to finish off the Destroyer.

Destroyer attacks:
  • Blade slam - he does a flying jump and lands with with a group of spectral blades at close range.
  • Energy waves - swinging his sword with a reverse grip generates several waves of energy that cannot be blocked.
  • Stones - he will fly just out of the arena and throw 3 large chunks of rock at you.

This mode is already unlocked at the very start of the game so you can run it first effectively making this a one run platinum.

Hard mode has a couple of spots that can be tricky if it is your first run. The main thing to be wary of is Tiamat, being the first boss you are under powered when you face her. Take your time if it is your first run and watch out for Wraith Scouts and Wraith Soldiers as they can be more dangerous than any boss in the game. Enemies will hit twice as hard and have more health. If you are using the Abyssal Armor (see Silver Legendary Form) you will have a health regen ability that will make things easier.

During the first meeting with Ulthane, angels will start attacking. As the fight progresses the two of you will start to move, taking the fight to the angels, once you reach an overpass Ulthane will throw you into a building. At this point, the score should be pretty close.

After going down to the bottom of the building and using the bombs Ulthane will break the crystals for you. At this point an angel will appear with the Redemption, once it is dead take the cannon and let the slaughter begin. At this point you can kill practically everything before Ulthane has a chance to, so start stealing his kills every chance you get.

If you win the challenge you will get both the trophy and weapon enhancement Combat Lore. This item will grant the weapon it is equipped to more experience and grant War more defense as well.

Any location with a fairly large number of Wicked or Broodlings, try to get them as close together as possible the slam a geyser. There are several other places that you can get this as well, the Iron Canopy for example has an area with 15 Broodlings,The Crossroads if you can get the Wicked grouped together and the Shadow Realm Portal in the Choking Grounds. In the Speed Brawl Shadow Realm it can be a bit tricky with only a level 1 Blade Geyser but it can be done.

Kill 160 enemies while on the angelic beast
13.92%
Rare
Bronze
This is possibly the hardest in the game as you have to kill almost every enemy in the tunnels in a rail shooter segment. There is a trick to this in that you can keep track of the number of kills you have. As soon as you start, pause the game and go into the menu to see your current kill count. Now create another save on a different file (DO NOT OVERWRITE), that way you can reload the save if you do not get the required kills.

You should meet certain kill counts at each checkpoint try to get close to 40 kills before entering the second longer cave. Focus on the large swarms of bugs and always hold down R2 to charge you shots as they will lock-on. Watch for the smaller enemies as well besides bugs the Duskwings are usually in 3's and most angels are not worth the time to try and kill.

Same idea as Life shards but these increase your Wrath (magic) and there are 20 of them scattered around the world.

Possibly Glitched
There are mixed reports on this one as some folks are able to return to the elevator room in the Twilight Cathedral while others are not. So it is best to get the shard while you are there the first time just in-case you cannot return. Due to this it is labeled as Missable and not glitched. This applies to both PS3 and PS4 versions and it seems random.

Wrath Fragments:
  1. Vulgrim  - purchase this from Vulgrim for 2500 souls
  2. Scalding Gallow - on the north end near Vulgrim climb the growth to find this one
  3. Choking Grounds - in the northeast building use the shadowflight orb to reach the main floor and the casket
  4. Twilight Cathedral - from the room with the 3 angel statues go to the east room and it is between 2 pillars, if you do not get this on the first trip it will be unreachable once the 3 statues are raised.
  5. Anvil's Ford - during the pigeon challenge, when on the large island separate from Ulthane there is a growth that can be climbed before jumping back over to Ulthane. climb the first growth up then follow the next growth around and down to the casket
  6. The Hollows - right next to a lever you have to activate
  7. The Hollows - just before the Griever fight, you have to flood a large room simply climb the ledges and just across the tracks to reach the casket
  8. Drowned Pass - dive in the water and head east and go underwater to enter a tunnel, follow it around and out of the water to a blue crystal once smashed you can reach the casket
  9. Anvil's Ford - before jumping in the "sewer" break the crystal blocking the gate to reach this casket
  10. The Ashlands - in the northeast of the main area after getting Ruin hidden behind a crystal
  11. Serpent Hole - to Dry Road just turn around
  12. Iron Canopy - after the web bridge breaks upon crossing there will be a shack to the left that can be broken near the beholder door
  13. Iron Canopy - in the room with he goreclaw holding the block, crossblade the claw to have it drop to block then grab the eastern side of the block and let the claw re-grab it. once lifted jump to the ledge to get the casket
  14. Serpent Road - going to Anvil's Ford there are grapple points leading to this casket
  15. Anvil's Ford - use the grapple points at the Wicked K location to reach the casket
  16. The Crossroads - in the library use the grapple point then go through the door to get the casket
  17. Dry Road - while in the "U" shaped room with all the growth on the eastern side the use the grapple point above to reach the casket
  18. Black Throne - after crossing the beam puzzle with 3 ledges that require the crossblade to move, there is a portal on the west wall shot it then jump into the portal behind you to transport to the newly opened one to get the casket
  19. Eden - underneath the stair case leading to the Tree, just hop down into the water

Uncommon
Silver
This is the Ultimate weapon in the game and it is required to face the final boss. The catch is that you have to piece it together just like the Abyssal Armor, the difference is Ulthane has to re-forge the blade when it is completed. To do that, you need the Mask of Shadows to actually see them.

Where to find the pieces to craft the Armageddon Blade:
  1. Immediately after exiting Eden use the Mask of Shadows to cross a bridge and collect this piece.
  2. From the Ashlands entrance head southwest and look for a red crystal growth, jump off Ruin to reach the ledge. Follow the path until you reach the crystal then use the Mask of Shadows to "see" the bombs. Use the abyssal chain to grab a bomb while it is visible and throw it it the growth the use the crossblade to light the bomb with the torch nearby. Continue up until you reach a grapple point and the piece is just beyond at the top of the pathway.
  3. On Dry Road this one is guarded by a boss fight with Uriel make sure to watch out for bladestorm and electric rain attacks. Otherwise she fights very similar to other Angels
  4. In the Drowned Pass atop the buildings in the middle of the lake.
  5. In the Broken Stair, you will needs to take a Serpent hole to get here. The piece is located atop the building where you stole the Angelic beast earlier.
  6. In the Choking Grounds atop the building near the exit where the Tormented Gate was imprisoned.
  7. The final piece is back at the very beginning of the game on the balcony of the Hotel Seraphim and will require a combination of Shadowflight and Abyssal chain.

The Ultimate Armor in the game is broken in to 10 pieces thorough out the game. You will not have access to this until you collect every piece. Also note that this is the only thing that will carry over to a New Game.

These are all 10 pieces of the armor:

  1. Scalding Gallows - You can either wait until you have the Crossblade or throw something at the bomb on a pillar near the southern entrance leading to the library.
  2. Scalding Gallows - Shadowflight required, head to the north exit of Samael's prison and look down to see a small ledge. this is kind of tricky to reach as you have to jump down then use Shadowflight at the right time or you will miss the ledge completely. Once on the ledge travel around to the casket containing the armor then jump to the boost orb to get back out.
  3. Twilight Cathedral - Crossblade required, you have to stun a goremaw that is over a doorway on the northeast balcony on the courtyard.
  4. Drowned Pass - Inside the cave to the northeast next to a shadow challenge gate.
  5. Drowned Pass - The Tormented Gate will give you this one after all 4  of the challenges are completed.
  6. The Hollows - West side of the Hollows near a group of goreclaws
  7. Iron Canopy - After killing the first Loom Warden use the grapple points to reach the chronosphere and it lies just beyond in the casket.
  8. Ashlands - Abyssal Chain required, At the very first Drill there are several grapple point that lead to the very top of the drill and the casket.
  9. Black Throne - Void Walker required, in the third tower there is a rotating pillar with a void mirror on it. First you must cross to the other side using the mirror, then using the bombs near the mirror use the mirror to reach the red crystal formation. Once destroyed you can use the mirror to reach the casket with the armor.
  10. Eden - After the fight with the boss cross the bridge then jump into the water to the right and head to the cave under the waterfall on the far northeast for the final piece of Armor.

This trophy will probably come naturally as you progress through the game, if not then it will definitely come while grinding for Bronze Slayer and Bronze Dark Rider. Just kill everything you see as you need those souls and weapon experience anyway to reduce grinding later.

Bronze
The truest grind of the game, the best way to do this is use a rubber band on the 2 analogs of the controller while in the Ashlands. Head to Leviathan's Drift where you fought Stygian since it is a giant circle, this will take at least two hours depending on how much traveling you have done by horse uo to this point. As you get Ruin so late in the game there is no way to get this naturally.
Horseman

This one will require some grinding as you obtain Ruin late in the game. Unfortunately there are limited areas that allow Ruin to be summoned but all have enemies. In order to minimize your grinding equip Chaoseater with the Legendary enhancement Death's Blessing. Head to the Ashlands and go to the "well" right outside in the desert itself there are several Abyssal Riders. Kill them then drop into the well to cause them to re-spawn rinse and repeat.

This was fixed with Patch 1.01 for PS4.

There are 5 weapons to get in the game and 4 of the 5 have 4 levels. All weapons start at level 0, if you get the regular Scythe then switch to the Harvester you will have to re-level the weapon as they do not share levels. As the weapons level up the runes at the top of their image will light up (as seen in pic) plus they will start to glow and the bar on the bottom shows how much more XP to the next level. You only need to max one of the two scythes for this trophy not both.

  • Chaoseater - Starting sword, no need to max this as it is replaced later.
  • Scythe - Purchase from Vulgrim for 1,000 souls
  • Harvester - On PS3 use the code "The Hollow Lord" and on PS4 purchase from Vulgrim for 5000 souls. This scythe grants a 10% soul bonus for every kill.
  • Tremor Gauntlet - Found in the Hollows and is required for the boss and several locations across the game.
  • Armageddon Blade - Gained before the final battle and comes maxed out.

Also make sure to equip War's Glory, which is found in the Iron Canopy to boost weapon EXP.

Most of the combat moves are purchased from Vulgrim for souls as you progress through the game. To buy all the skills you need a grand total of 39,900 souls.

There are a few good locations for this one, the best one seems to be right after the Angelic Beast segment. In the Shadow Gate in Choking Grounds requiring finishers and before entering the Citadel there are 5 duskwings flying around the entrance, first you need to bring them close together. Once all 5 are close enough jump up and press Circle to grab and kill one, immediately press Circle again to grab the next one. Sometimes you might have to jump or shadow flight between grabs otherwise repeat the process without touching the ground until they are all dead.

This one is technically missable as items in the environment do not re-spawn. Use everything around you as much as possible to get this one out of the way. You can use parking meters, cars and telephone poles to kill enemies around you. Cars are the most abundant resource and can kill groups of the Wicked easily. The Ravager gained from the Choking Grounds shadow portals will help as it boosts damage of environmental objects and weapons.

Destroy a helicopter during the apocalypse with a vehicle

Bronze

This should be the very first trophy in the game to pop. However the way to get this is not completely apparent. At the very beginning of the game during the apocalypse the game instructs you to use the Chaos form. Do not use it at this time as you cannot pick up cars while in Chaos mode, instead kill the demon and proceed. If you use Chaos you can turn it off the same way you activated it, simply press R1 and R2 again to deactivate it.

There will be a few minions on the way to an intersection just after the bus is destroyed. When you reach the intersection and see the giant Tormented Gate being attacked, STOP as soon as the ground breaks behind you. Grab a car and watch the giant as the helicopter will appear just over its shoulder and head your way. Once it is close enough, throw the car at the helicopter to make this one pop.
