E-commerce in Ukraine gets a jolt from China, and the FTA deal with Canada is in good shape.

Delivery to Ukraine and Belarus through Chinese e-commerce site Aliexpress will be subject to more stringent conditions starting today, Novoe Vremya reported. The new shipping policy will make buying from the site more expensive.

The Rada will ratify an agreement on a free trade area between Ukraine and Canada in the coming weeks, Economic Development Minister Stepan Kubiv said, as reported by Interfax Ukraine. Ukraine's Ambassador to Canada, Andriy Shevchenko, said that Canada in turn will be able to ratify the pact as early as the spring.

The State Property Fund plans to put up 75 percent of Turboatom's shares for privatization in November and hold another auction in December in hopes of selling nearly all of the shares of the currently idle Odesa portside chemical plant, according to the 2017 privatization plan published in newspaper Vidomosti Pryvatizatsiyi and reported by Unian.

The National Bank of Ukraine said unemployment could accelerate as a result of the doubling of the country's minimum wage, Interfax Ukraine reported. The NBU said the rise in unemployment could be offset by the increase in informal employment.

Yanair is entering the business aviation market by offering the YanAir Connect service: charter flights on a Cessna Citation CJ1 business jet, Interfax Ukraine reported. Corporate clients and private individuals can use the service. The airline provides broker services and orders charter flights on the aircraft.

Ukraine International Airlines is expected to double the number of flights on the Kyiv-Chernivtsi route starting April 14, as reported by Avianews.com. Also, Italian flagship carrier Alitalia is adding new daily flights between Kyiv and Rome beginning May 2.

Ukraine is opening the market for dredging work and inviting busineses to participate, according to Interfax Ukraine. Infrastructure Minister Vladimir Omelyan said the country will also open the market for dredging in domestic waters and will open that for business as well.

In 2017, Ukraine's meat imports are expected to increase 20 percent, and Ukraine could become a net importer of pork, according to the Food and Agricultural Organization and Ukrinform. According to the author of the FAO report, domestic demand for meat and inexpensive meat products is expected to grow.

The European Union will provide $1.5 million for improvements in the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. The EU will also promote the strengthening of the institutional potential of the Ombudsman's Office to protect human rights, Interfax Ukraine reported.
