Number of millionaires in Ukraine shrank by 25% in 2016; EIB mulls investment to bring Kharkiv metro closer to airport; S&P; affirms ratings on Ukraine at 'B-/B' with stable outlook.

• The number of millionaires in Ukraine fell by 25% in 2016 compared to 2015, but total income of the nation’s millionaires increased by 13%, according to the SFS press service, Myroslav Prodan , acting head of Ukraine's State Fiscal Service.

• The Economic Development and Trade Ministry expects Ukraine to rise in the Doing Business ranking by at least 10-12 positions in 2017, Ukrinform reported.

• The European Investment Bank is considering lending 160 million euros to Kharkiv for a 3.5 kilometer extension of the Oleksiivska subway line, the newest of city’s three lines. In the first expansion in a decade to the metro system, this 35 percent extension of the northeast-southeast line, would add two new stations, Derzhavynska and Odeska, and bring the line closer to its ultimate goal, Kharkiv airport, according to the bank’s website.

• Aircraft company Antonov, which is a part of the UkrOboronProm, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Turkey’s leading defense company ASELSAN, according to Antonov’s press service.

• S&P; Global Ratings affirmed its 'B-/B' long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings of Ukraine with the stable outlook, S&P; said in a statement.

• The IMF, the World Bank and other international financial institutions retain a high level of confidence in Ukraine, former Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Gontareva, told Interfax-Ukraine.

• Ukrainian banks' debts to the National Bank of Ukraine related to refinancing loans fell by 3.9% in April, UNIAN reported.

• The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a pilot project to privatize small state companies via the ProZorro internet sales platform, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

• Energy and Coal Industry Ministry intends to discuss importing U.S. coal with representatives of major coal consuming companies in Ukraine, Minister Ihor Nasalyk has said on 112 TV Channel.

• U.S. Congress intends to review next year’s aid to Ukraine, Michael McCaul, Chair of US House of Rpresentatives Homeland Security Committee, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
