Update My Personal Information
You can update your name, address or phone number at any library location. Identification must be provided. If you want to update your email address, you can do this using your My CPL account. To add, edit, or delete an email address, log in to your My CPL account and click on the Update link under My Personal Information. Including an email address in your account allows the Chicago Public Library (CPL) to notify you directly by email about holds received, overdue or lost materials. An email address in your account means that CPL will notify you by email instead of by phone and/or postcard. Please note that you must check your email account regularly if you include an email address as your preferred method of communication because materials received to fulfill hold requests are held for a limited time.
Children’s personal information (including email addresses) can only be updated at Chicago Public Library locations.
