Summary Description

The Director of National Accounts is required to manage all aspects of the account relationships and is ultimately responsible for ensuring proper brand representation, achieving budgets and developing and executing strategic initiatives.

  • Ensures proper brand representation at point of sale
  • Drives sell in and sell through strategy working with product management and marketing communications

Dealer Support — Key Accounts Assistant

Division: Sales & Dealer Support
Reports To: Director of Dealer Support

Summary Description

This position is responsible to assist the Key Account Representative in the processing of key accounts “Super Store” orders (for example: Guitar Center, Sam Ash, Sweetwater, B&H, Amazon, Musician’s Friend, etc.). Accounts are high-volume and moderately to highly complex in scope.

This position is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processes inventory requests including, dealer orders, product allocation, transfer requests, and employee purchases. Continuously track orders including product from various factories and coordinate with warehouse and dealers on shipments.
  • Communicates with dealers regarding shipping, inventory, change in orders, delays.
  • Facilitates tracking, shipping and return to inventory for items such as demonstration units; processes Return Authorizations and related paperwork.
  • Maintains electronic and hard copy documents, forms, and related paperwork.
  • Will require support to the high volume dealers whether by telephone or e-mail.
  • May perform other duties or projects as requested.

Employment Standards

Education/Experience: High School diploma and some college courses preferred with 3-5 years of related experience.

Skills: Ability to accurately enter data at 40-50 words per minute. Intermediate knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and database software. Industry experience a plus. Must have problem solving skills.

Knowledge: Employee must be highly customer oriented with a helpful, friendly telephone manner to enable them to work with Super Store personnel, DSMs, and all internal RUS customers. Experience with online computer work and ability to maneuver around/inside websites.

Product Strategy Manager — Roland Professional A/V

Division: Pro A/V
Reports To: Vice President of Product Management - Hi Tech
Location: Los Angeles, CA

A Product Strategy Manager is responsible for sales results of a product group, particularly for the Roland Professional A/V product group. This includes the monitoring of sales numbers, communicating with R&D in Japan, travelling U.S. to understand the market trend, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, directing public relations when appropriate and following through on all issues pertaining to their product group. The development of marketing/sales strategies includes programs and plans which stimulate interest, support, understanding, and sales of the product among the sales force, distributors, retailers, and consumers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy Managers develop long range growth and competitive strategies; work closely with R&D and marketing team in Japan to ensure the correct new products with features and price points to meet changing market needs and competition.
  • Responsible for the launching of new products, Product Strategy Managers develop strategic plans to introduce a product and then provide ongoing sales analysis to monitor and report sales results.
  • The Product Manager will gather and compile continuous information on all pertinent competitive products, target customers, and maintain a data base on such. This information will then be communicated to Management, DSMs, Independent Rep Firms, retailers and Roland Japan.
  • Responsible for the development and forecast of division operating/revenue forecast budget as well as working with Supply Chain Management division.
  • Responsible for setting up product information including competitive pricing while working with Operations Department to ensure correct information is available within system.
  • The Product Manager must have extensive in-depth knowledge of operating all Roland products in their group and maintain this level of knowledge for all new products as they are introduced.
  • Act as product group point person as it relates to marketing issues (Web, Video, content, Advertising, etc.) including Product Ambassador activities.
  • Duties include producing demos, demonstrating at trade shows, written materials, developing web content and reporting activities regularly to management.
  • Responsible for the education and testing of DSMs and Independent Rep Firms on product. This also includes non-Roland personnel at regional trainings, etc.
  • Responsible for division products for trade shows, regional training and clinics.
  • Responsible for managing Product Specialists and/or Clinicians in within their division.
  • Available for after-hours technical support to key accounts and users based on the “mission critical” nature of the products and their applications.

Employment Standards

Education/Experience: College degree desired in Marketing/Business Degree/ Bachelor’s in related field a plus, or related work experience. Successful product management experience with global products company or extensive experience in the live event production field (3+ years).

Skills: Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and PC skills – Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.

Knowledge: Live video and audio event production with advanced knowledge of technical standards, workflows. Video streaming production and knowledge of enterprise video use is highly desired. Experience working with Japanese culture helpful. Must have overall knowledge of successful product lifecycle and inventory management experience. Strong relationships within MI industry a plus.

Language Ability:

Video Producer/Editor (Preditor)

Division: Marketing
Reports To: Manager, Video Production

Objectives

This video Producer/Editor position is a skilled, creative, and cutting edge video production person that can produce a video project from inception to completion. This includes handling video and audio pre-production, production and post-production duties. Duties include writing scripts, storyboards, operating camera, lighting, sound recording, video editing and motion graphics.

One of the main strengths needed for this position is video post-production (video editing). This includes being able to accurately convey the right message from a 10-sec commercial spot to a 10-min documentary-style piece. Skills include the mastery of storytelling, and identifying marketing motives and trends. You must be skilled and experienced with NLEs and handling various video formats and codecs and compression settings.

The other strength needed for this position is in production. This includes being able to capture and direct video shoots with creativity and style. From single camera scripted shoots to live multi-camera shoots. Skills include Directing, Cinematography, and Audio Recording. You will work with a variety of cameras and lighting rigs. You must be experienced and familiar with shooting various HD videos formats as well as have a keen understanding of audio recording.

This position is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the creative-team to shoot, edit, produce, mix and master videos that support marketing and sales objectives. Responsible to assist with: script writing, creating storyboards, setting up camera shots and lights, recording and mixing sound, directing content, as well as editing video and motion graphics.
  • May be required to go solo on location, shoot the video, bring it back to the office and edit the video according to department standards. This also includes being able to do camera work on multi-camera shoots or webinars.
  • Assist with sourcing and managing crews, locations and equipment based on department practices as well as time and budget requirements.
  • Performs set-up and tear-down, as well operation and maintenance of related equipment including lights, camera and audio.
  • Supports technical needs for internal and public facing multi-camera webcasts and company meetings as needed.
  • Helps distribute video content in support of sales and marketing objectives.
  • Helps maintain studio and all related equipment.
  • Helps organize and maintain storage of digital assets.
  • Travels to off-site locations for video production as needed using reliable, personal vehicle.
  • May be asked to work a variety of work schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Sales and Marketing Assistant Paid Internship

Roland Corporation U.S. is currently seeking candidates for a paid internship position (10-30 hours/week) in our Sales & Marketing departments. The pay is $12/hour. We are looking for self-motivated applicants that are interested in getting hands-on experience in the music business as part of the Roland team. You will learn and be involved in the sales process, the creation of retail and event materials, our social media content, and the planning of special events.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to, assistance with trafficking projects, archiving materials, print production, event preparation, marketplace monitoring, and product support. You will grow your sales and marketing skills by supporting our staff comprised of an internal and outside sales force, support of our in-house graphics, web design, print, photo/video, and product marketing teams.
