Justin Trudeau still hasn't met with . But has. She spoke to more than 100 truckers and protestors over the past 10 days. This is what they seek:

Such a fascinating podcast from ⁦⁩… Amazing interviewer and two amazing guests who know their topic and know how to respectfully disagree. I learned a lot and broadened my perspective on a topic I find interesting but know little about.

What a concept! There's a huge protest going on so you ask a reporter to go interview the protestors. Oh, and send a fantastic photographer too! Remember when newspapers & magazines did this kind of thing? Now it's left to and Substack.

If, like me, you’ve been waiting for some good reporting and interviews with the real people taking part in the Freedom Convoy up in Canada, this is it, with infinitely more nuance than anything in the corporate press.

Best piece I've read yet on the truckers. This protest seems like a cross between Revolt of the Public and the Bonus March as described in Matt Stoller's excellent book Goliath (and some seem to be thirsty for it to end the same way).

“It has to stop,” Trudeau declared. But if he sauntered down to the mess of rigs on Wellington Street, if he talked to the truckers for a few minutes, he would understand: It will not stop.

What is happening in Canada is about something far bigger than vaccine mandates. Amazing reporting here from (with photos from ).

This story of the Canadian truckers was one where I knew I couldn't trust prestige legacy media to cover honestly. Not after the Yellow Vests, Covington & Rittenhouse. Finally, proper on-the-ground reporting without an *a priori* ideological frame

"They are a city inside a city whose inhabitants—there are an estimated 8,000 to 10,000—were outraged with a country that seemed to have forgotten they existed." Very incisive dispatch from on .

There's a diverse group of truckers and protesters, vaccinated and unvaccinated, and of many different ethnicities and backgrounds, at Freedom Convoy. Their stories haven't been told. I meet some of the people at the protests and try to tell their stories.

Good point from : "This spectacle—of workers fulfilling Marx’s fantasy, only to be smeared by the very people who claim to prioritize the working class—captures in stark relief the split emerging between the working class and the left that used to represent them"
